Our Goldfish, 2005
Picture Index:
3/2/05 Here are the two new goldies. I wasn't planning on getting any new goldies just yet, but then I saw the calico ryunkin and couldn't resist.
Then since I was getting one, I decided to see who else wanted to come home with me. The little orange oranda was in a herd of little orandas that were all in the game. Would have liked to brought several of them home, but I only have room for 2 more goldies after these and I want some more diversity in the tank. The little oranda's quite a character.
The new goldies 3/8/05
I put a piece of zucchini in for the snails and it took them a bit, but the newbies have discovered that it's food.
They've been pigging out for like an hour. The little ryunkin has a string of poop trailing behind her like you wouldn't believe. The end of it is green gel food from breakfast, the next section is some brown daphnia from around lunchtime, and then bunch o white zuchhini poop. Little piggies!
I just love having new goldies. Gotta figure out what to name them. Names based on color or any markings are out considering I'm still calling a white fish with pastel orange finnage Stripe.
On a side note, I haven't noticed any snails dying from the prazi.
3/28/05 Finally put the newbies in the 55! So far everyone is doing fine. :)

Bugsy, Scooter and Fancy.
I had to rescue Scooter tonite. he was stuck down between some potted plants. Little twerp!
7/9/05 Had to get this pic just now... Bugsy and Scooter were just parked there by the potted plants snoozing. Then Coco swam up and parked too. Awwwww!
7/15/05 another awwwww pic of the goldies. all snoozing together...
7/28/05 The new babies were feeling amorous! LOL and Coco caught the brunt of it.
Isn't Scooter something!
the newbies and Stripe. Scooter's body is as long as Stripe's now. and Fancy is fast catching up.
8/14/05 Got the tank back together and the goldies back in it. Here are a few pics. :)
Look at Lumpy. She's at least 2 inches off the gravel! LOL
The plants are starting to look decent. the new amazon sword on the left side is starting to take off. potted a couple of ozelot swords in gravel (right side). Am curious as to how they'll do in gravel and wonder if they'll suck up more nutrients from the water without the topsoil. Suppose we'll see. :)
Here's everyone
and a few misc pics of the goldies.
Lumpy and Stripe
I think fancy's body is starting to catch up with his tail and finnage.
The newbies are definitely growing. and stripe's tail is getting long.
8/15/05 Here's a couple more from today.
I was trying to get some pics of breeding stars but all the closeups were blurry. You can see them here on Fancy's gill cover and on Bugsy's pectoral fin.
